The History

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded in New York City in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who went to the western world with the mission of spreading the transcendental message of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appearing as a devotee in this age of Kali. Being a part of the Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya, one of the four vaishnava sampradayas, ISKCON comes in an authorized disciplic succession of great spiritual preceptors who have taught the science of self realization based on the teachings of the Bhagawat Gita and Srimad Bhagwatam.

ISKCON Temple at IIT Indore

A beautiful ISKCON temple is soon to grace the campus of IIT Indore, located near Security Gate No. 1. This sacred initiative is designed to serve as a spiritual oasis for students, faculty, and staff—offering a serene space for meditation, prayer, and personal reflection.

More than just a place of worship, the temple will act as a hub for holistic development—helping students nurture inner strength, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with the Supreme Lord. With regular programs, kirtans, and philosophical discussions, it will support the IIT community in cultivating values, purpose, and spiritual well-being alongside academic excellence.

Our Journey

Beginings

What started as a small weekly discussion circle among a few students gradually evolved into a full-fledged spiritual movement within the IIT Indore campus.

Growth

With increasing participation, we began organizing kirtans, meditation evenings, Vedic workshops, and outreach programs for all students and faculty.

Present Day

Today, we are a thriving community of like-minded individuals devoted to the practice of bhakti yoga and spiritual service, continuing to grow in number and impact.
